Making the decision to explore therapy is a huge first step. Finding the right therapist can feel like a huge hurdle.

Therapy comes with its own language: modalities, styles, terminology. Unless you’ve done a lot of therapy before, then it can feel daunting and this is often why many people begin the search but never quite find the courage to make the call. And, it does take courage.

I am an Integrative Therapist and am BACP registered. I go into more detail of how we can work together here. At the heart of my work is the building of a relationship based on respect and empathy, and a safe space, either virtual or in person, which has the capacity to hold whatever it is you would like to bring.

There are many therapists and access to thousands since therapy has moved online. More choice is not always helpful. No doubt cost plays a contributing factor on who you reach out to, perhaps you’re looking for a particular modality, gender, ethnicity, language but it’s likely you feel inexplicably drawn to some and not others based on a photo. I would say, trust and be curious about your gut instincts.
